TREE DANKO

Tree Danko is an electric/acoustic banjo player, singer-songwriter and producer living in the Puna district on the Big Island of Hawaii. Tree has been playing the banjo for more than 16 years & records all material in an off-grid recording studio he built called Studio 3, under his own independent record label, ‘HappyFish Records’. The legendary and mysterious Studio 3 is in an undisclosed location due to the fact that it has been built in an abandoned house.

The band is a 3-piece that includes predominant banjo, drum & bass. The music is written entirely on 5-string banjo, featuring Scruffy Jones holding tight bass-lines. All lyrics and music currently under production was written on the road and in various abandoned properties, vehicles and short-buses by Tree over the past decade and embodies the spirit of freedom and the timeless traveler in all of us.

Tree Danko grew his damp roots in the Kalapana region in the District of Puna, on the Big Island of Hawaii where he has been living for the past 8 years exploring, playing with cockroaches, fire ants and rat-lungworm girls; all the while growing marijuana, trees and food all over the islands.

​

The music he has created is born of synesthesia, visions & secrets and has come to fruition with the help of Pele, Pacha Mama & Drugs for the Sheeple.

​

The Hanged Mans akashic banjo awakening connected the realms, from his roots to his crown. After countless downloads & mind melting experiences, his discography now boasts more than 80 unique original banjo-centric tracks, all written on one of his Three banjos, each with a name – Banjolene, Dark Horse and #13 aka Lomilomi.

​

While anchoring light and transmuting energy under the opening and closing of the portals and inter-dimensional time/space vortexes at Music Festivals, nude beaches, EDM events, camp-outs, parties, ecstatic dances, private events, tantric sex festivals and more, Tree has been tirelessly reinventing the way the banjo is viewed and challenging the way it is played, creating a psychedelic deep-space indie punk-grunge-folk-rock blend, amongst many other brand new unnamed styles, using all-new innovative techniques to create sounds never heard before. The spirits of time speak volumes through the vibrations of his banjos resonators, you just have to listen.
